The VANSHIELD® Story
In Business Since 1913!
About Frank Siviglia
Back in 1913, Frank Siviglia started building wagons – next to an ice plant. Thus getting a little knowledge of insulation and refrigeration. His sons Nicholas and Joseph came to work for him in 1938. His son Nicholas went off to war in 1942. Upon returning they started building refrigerated truck bodies. Later discovering what corrosion does to a van body; they were struck by thought that if they could come up with a relatively inexpensive way to protect the bodies they fabricated, they would last longer, and they would have some very grateful customers and more time to get down to serious business. Joseph an avid sailor, saw potential in polyester fiberglass. Back in 1954, they started to spray the interior of truck bodies with fiberglass…then moving on to vans and other lite duty trucks.
In 1970, Nicholas Siviglia’s son Nicholas Siviglia Jr. joined the family business after receiving an engineering degree. He has continued to expand the VANSHIELD® product line which is distributed up & down the east coast. They continue to supply and manufacture the high quality products that the Siviglia family has been known for, for over 85 years in business.
And today thousands of satisfied customers, including van manufactures, fleet owner and owner operators trust their vans to the Siviglia brand for VANSHIELD’s quality protection and insulation packages.
